Anthropology

Physical Anthropology is sometimes called "biological anthropology" because it deals with the mechanism of biological evolution, genetic inheritance, human adaptability, and fossils relating to human evolution. In ANTH2301 - Physical Anthropology we will study how humans as a species have adapted to the changing environment, the behavior of living primates, and look at the different types of extinct primates.

Cultural Anthropology is the study of humans as social beings who have the amazing ability to adapt their surroundings to their own purposes, who can speak, invent, imagine, and dream. Humans create and modify culture. In ANTH 2351 - Cultural Anthropology we will study different parts of culture, different tribes around the world, and how these tribes/societies develop and express culture.
