This is a survey of the political, social, economic, military, cultural and intellectual history of the United States from the the discovery of America to the Civil War.

Prerequisite: A passing score of 230+ on the reading portion of the THEA test, or completion of READ 90 with a grade of "C" or better, or THEA exemption via SAT, ACT or TAKS scores.

HIST 1302: United States History II

HIST 2321: World Civilizations I

This course is a survey of ancient and medieval history with emphasis on Asian, African, American and European cultures. Prerequisite: HIST 1301 and HIST 1302.

HIST 2322: World Civilizations II

This course is a survey of the modern history and cultures of Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.

Prerequisite: HIST 1301 and HIST 1302.

HIST 2387: Mexican American History  I

This course provides an interpretation of the history of the Mexican American in the United States from the time period of Pre-Columbian Civilizations to the U.S. Civil War.  This course can be used to replace U.S. History I (HIST 1301) as needed to satisfy core curriculum requirements.

Prerequisite: A passing score of 230+ on the reading portion of the THEA test, or completion of READ 90 with a grade of "C" or better, or THEA exemption via SAT, ACT, or TAKS scores.

HIST 2328:  Mexican American History II
